Just a little carved pair of German Ergebirge cows--because who can ever have too many little animals

with a diameter of 6 inches at the lip and 2

and a few bumps in the glaze original to its making

but I’ve since found that it bears a strong resemblance to ancient Chinese archers and warriors on horses

Hand-painted Puffin Letter Opener, Presumed Grenfell Mission pewter shells Dice and checkers not includedI've had a couple of old Grenfell Mission (Labrador) wooden letter openers hand painted with figures in parka driving dogs sleds, and have seen a few other varieties as well, and this puffin is so similar in manner I am nearly certain it is Grenfell Mission as well. What a charmer of a puffin, and what a charmer of a letter opener, to keep on one's desk, or perhaps to stick like a post into a bowl full of pretty rocks and pebbles. C. 1920s 30s I
