The 2004 Brut Cristal has put on quite a bit of weight since I first tasted it earlier this year
Niepoort, Vintage other_regions linear and palate staining finishRuby purple, a bit more saturated than the Secundum. Brooding aromas of crushed black fruits, licorice and spices. Very ripe, thick and dense, with compelling sweetness of fruit. Bright, integrated acids give this very lush, fleshy, palate coating wine excellent tensile strength. Finishes impressively long and bright, with finely grained, mouthdusting tannins. This has a terrific kernel of fruit and a three dimensional palate feel. Stephen Tanzer
