with the pieces fitting together by way of posts and holes but my favorite thing is the numbers carved across the joints where the pieces meet

and I will continue to snatch them up whenever I find them

but the edge of the top shoe is a bit lower on one side

There seems to be just a tiny bit of warping to the wood of the lid such that it sits just a tiny bit higher on one side - very minor

But in spending a little time looking at the work of French Abstact painters and print makers Pierre Soulages and Raoul Ubac, to whom the French seller of this print pointed me, this piece was very clearly done by an artist of that school. One sees a
