Cloud Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated technical Cloud Operations Manager to participate, lead and direct a high-performing team of cloud operations professionals and subject matter experts. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our cloud environment, ensuring we meet service level agreements (SLAs), maintain a strong security posture, and continuously improve efficiency through automation. You will also play a key role in supporting our annual FedRAMP assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of cloud operations professionals and subject matter experts.
  • Interface with customers, understanding their requirements, plan/schedule tasks and deliverables.
  • Ensure customer issues/tickets are categorized and promptly addressed in accordance to the SLAs.
  • Oversee the daily operations of our cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and high availability.
  • Implement cloud operations improvements using automation tools and artificial general intelligence (AGI).
  • Implement and enforce cloud security best practices to maintain a strong security posture.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud resource utilization to optimize costs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cloud operations. Provide status and progress reports to management.
  • Work collaboratively with cloud architect/engineer, security, and other teams to ensure seamless cloud deployments and operations.
  • Lead and participate in incident response processes to resolve cloud-related incidents efficiently.
  • Lead and participate in contingency planning and recurring testing
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Actively participate in and support the annual FedRAMP assessment process.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to senior experience (3+ years) in cloud operations management (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar)
  • Hands on experience and in-depth understanding (1+ years) of cloud infrastructure, services, and security principles
  • Experience (1+ years) with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and DevSecOps methodologies is a plus
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus
  • Ability to align cloud operations planning to corporate strategic initiatives such as automation and artificial general intelligence (AGI)
  • Triage customer tickets, categorize, assign tasks and ensure prompt resolution
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team of cloud professionals
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. PMP certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with FedRAMP compliance is a strong plus

Compensation

  • Base compensation: Commensurate with experience.
