Senior Scrum Master

In this position, you are a Senior SCRUM Master responsible for providing effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching skills supporting the agile development process and delivery of our applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for enforcing the agile tenants as interpreted by our team, removing impediments, promoting empowerment and working with customers for various products and solutions. The selected candidate will be highly responsible and accountable and will challenge the teams and strive for improving best practices to produce consistently positive results and growth of the team. You will work in a customer-facing role in a dynamic team environment with multiple touchpoints interfacing with many stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage realistic project plans. Provider oversight or manage the implementation processes by ensuring alignment to project scope, schedule resources and work within budget, track progress toward deadlines, monitor progress of sprints, track metrics and adjust as needed
  • Communicate well with the SCRUM team, remove impediments, lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team
  • Collaborate and hold team members accountable, set clear sprint performance standards, resolve sprint performance issues, work with product owners to manage backlogs/new requests, keep team engaged and on task.
  • Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls
  • Identify differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management
  • Facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
  • Lead a team to self-organization, monitor and improve team dynamics for maximum efficiency
  • Manage test related documentation on GitHub repository
  • Adhere to US Government policies and procedures related to application installation and/or integration testing and use
  • Mentor and guide how to use Agile Methodology and best practices

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of high school diploma but prefer Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline. SCRUM related certification is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in the software development industry and 3+ years as a project manager applying Agile/SCRUM practices. Experience supporting Federal Government development projects is a plus.
  • Understand basic fundamentals of iterative application development
  • Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
  • Experienced in MS Azure and DevSecOps. Cloud certification is a plus.
