Vaughn Stokes to lead TechTrend’s federal focus on enterprise wide solutions
ARLINGTON, Virginia, MAY 3, 2013 — TechTrend, Inc., has named Vaughn Stokes, former USDA Forest Service CIO, as their Executive Program Director. Stokes will lead TechTrend’s 2013 initiative to provide enterprise-wide solutions to key problem areas for federal clients, such as secure cloud computing and big data.
With an eye to the future of enterprise wide solutions, TechTrend welcomes Stokes’s notable accomplishments in the fields of engineering and information technology. “As part of our 2013 initiative to expand the company’s capabilities, we made this strategic decision to bring on Vaughn,” said TechTrend President Mohammad Amir. “He gives us the added expertise we need to increase our ability to serve our clients enterprise-wide.”
Stokes was appointed as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service in 2006 and lead the agency’s IT effort until he retired in 2010. He was named CIO of the Year in 2010 by the USDA for enhancing the Forest Service’s IT security posture while pursuing agency green initiatives. In 2008, he was named USDA Manager of the Year.

Before serving as CIO, Mr. Stokes was the Forest Service’s Director of Engineering. In both positions, he was responsible for the oversight of engineering activities for the nation’s 155 national forests and 20 grasslands, providing leadership for major policy revisions in IT infrastructure, and building and road programs.
