Cloud Solutions Architect

We are currently seeking a senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team of talented staff in helping to modernize how citizens interact with government services. Using a modern technology stack and agile approach, in this role you will have an opportunity to be a part of a workforce that is transforming IT through cloud modernization efforts within the United States government.

In this position, you are a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) with expertise in Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Application Development platforms ready to succeed with government customers and migration providers for transition planning to the MS Azure Cloud. You will work in a customer-facing role in a dynamic team environment with high-profile cloud migration projects in the federal government. You provide the Azure Cloud subject matter expertise to inform and develop architecture, usage, provisioning, and configuration solutions using cloud native tooling, automation and Infrastructure as code for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings. Your professional CSA skills and recommendations will guide users on optimization of available cloud offerings to include integration, aggregation, and orchestration of cloud services for cloud-native workloads or transformation and migration to the Azure cloud for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
Development of proof-of-concepts and pilot applications
Work closely with application owner, end-users, operations, and security leaders to ensure requirements are captured in the to-be architecture
Analyze and rationalize application portfolios and define migration roadmaps and strategies
Map customer system requirements to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services by converting technical requirements of a project into architecture and design that guide final products
Convert the technical requirements of a project into the architecture and design that will guide the final product
Work directly with customers, migration partners and team members (DevOps engineers and developers) to determine soft dependencies, identify best methods of migration (manual and automated) and define cloud services, architecture, and environments for hosting business applications
Recommend cloud resource utilization and optimization based on monitored analytics reports on cloud consumption rates, trends, impact areas, and trouble areas
Recommend cloud services to use for optimal performance and scale
Provide innovative methodologies to identify and solve migration, performance, scalability, reliability, and availability issues
Manage the technical delivery of cloud services that span storage, networking and compute cloud capabilities, with a deep understanding of each service across the full IT cycle
Qualifications
Technical Requirements
Power Platform certified MB 400
Expert certification(s) in Microsoft Azure Level 3 or higher
Architect Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings in commercial or government tenant
Produce Azure Resource Templates, Policies and Governance Plans
Map Azure Active Directory to the organization AD
Experience with at least one operating system: Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, Windows
Hybrid Cloud Environment Support and knowledge transfer
Knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS, etc.
Knowledge and experience with Azure SQL DB and Azure SQL DB MI
Day to day activities related to managing and maintaining compute resources within Azure Tenant
Deploy web and service-based applications in Windows/Linux environments as mandated by the Government.
Create development and testing environments from on-premises to cloud-based
Deploy highly available, scalable, and secure applications within Azure tenant
Provide a working model of Azure Resource Manager
Communicate and work in a DevSecOps environment with teams, managers, business units and stakeholders.
Automate manual tasks using Terraform scripts
Other Requirements
MS Power Platform Solution Architect
Bachelor’s Degree in IT field, ideally in Computer Science strongly preferred.
Proven ability to demo technology products and services to technical and non-technical people.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of DevSecOps solutions
Experience with federal government consulting
