Cloud Operations Manager

We are looking for a Cloud Operations Manager with technical skills to join our team of talented people. This role is essential for managing the cloud infrastructure of an organization. It involves overseeing daily operations, monitoring cloud systems’ performance, and developing strategies for effective cloud service management. The Cloud Operations team oversees managing and optimizing the cloud infrastructure, especially on Azure. Key responsibilities include leading a team focused on cloud operations, creating a culture of continuous improvement in Azure technologies, and ensuring operational excellence in the cloud environment. This involves managing Azure resources for optimal performance, managing & implementing DevOps practices, and using automation tools like Powershell DSC and Terraform in AKS cluster environment. The team also ensures security and compliance, following Azure security best practices and regulatory requirements for FedRAMP.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a specialist in our operational performance and come up with creative ways to enhance it.
  • Managing and improving the cost efficiency of cloud resources
  • Supervise teams with different technical expertise; attract, employ, guide, and oversee staff with various technical abilities.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Support implementation of policies and procedures to include incident response and contingency testing
  • Support annual FedRAMP assessment for our Federal GovCloud DevSecOps platform to include continuous monitoring and associated documentations
  • Analyze and report on the causes and effects of system failures and apply fixes to avoid repeat incidents.
  • Identify, set up and communicate Key Performance Indicators to track operations services performance; communicate and report to external customers contracted metrics and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud teams to create/apply automation tools to produce quick, compliant report of cloud operations.
  • Provide people leadership for the team, including designing training programs, onboarding programs, and identifying key players within your organization.
  • Oversee customer-oriented functions for Cloud Operations. Make sure that the Technical Support team is trained to deliver excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain the Cloud operations related Procedures and policies, define Key Performance Indicators, and contribute to and enhance security policies and procedures for Cloud Services.
  • Create and execute the automated processes for cloud operations, including identifying automation requirements, using DevOps/system configuration tools.
  • Managing and improving the cost efficiency of cloud resources

Other Qualifications:

  • Skills in leading a team that relies on using current dev ops tools.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a strong emphasis on Azure and GCP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced with overseeing a NOC/SOC
  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes in Azure.
  • Expertise in both Azure Gov and Commercial services and operational best practices.

Other Requirements:

  • Travel estimated at 15%
  • No clearance required (Secret clearance preferred)
