Agency IT Acquisition Options Expand with TechTrend’s SEWP VI Awards

Federal customers will soon have expanded, streamlined access to technology expertise through one of the government’s premier IT acquisition vehicles.
TechTrend recently won designation as a prime contractor under NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) VI. SEWP is a Best in Class (BIC) acquisition vehicle that simplifies federal agencies’ technology purchases through pre-competed contracts with vetted industry vendors.
The bottom-line benefit for TechTrend customers: acquisition options that allow projects to move from planning to execution without unnecessary procurement delays.
Prime Seats Support Missions on Both Broad, Targeted Scales
SEWP has been in place since 1993 to offer civilian and defense agencies efficient ordering, flexible contract types, and a broad range of IT solutions, all while complying with acquisition regulations. The program has adapted through the years to encompass emerging technologies and federal priorities. NASA is the designated Executive Agent for SEWP, but the program is open to the entire federal government.
While SEWP V was a successful continuation of this long-standing, product-focused Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), it forced federal buyers to look elsewhere if they wanted standalone IT services or advanced solutions consulting. SEWP VI now gives federal agencies the ability to procure such standalone IT professional services, software engineering, enterprise cloud management, and cybersecurity consulting without purchasing associated hardware. TechTrend pursued SEWP VI specifically for this reason: we are not just a product reseller, and SEWP VI is the first iteration of the vehicle to introduce dedicated professional services categories built for firms like ours.
The latest iteration of NASA SEWP introduces significantly enhanced strategic sourcing capabilities designed to simplify federal technology procurement. SEWP VI carries forward the vehicle’s strategic sourcing baseline by introducing Strategic Storefronts, which directly replace SEWP V’s legacy Agency Catalogs and Marketplaces.
Alongside these streamlined Storefronts, federal agencies can leverage SEWP VI’s expanded Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) functionalities. Made possible by NASA’s pathfinding December 2025 acceptance of the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) deviation, these integrated tools allow procurement officers to easily establish agency-specific BPAs. This enables streamlined, recurring orders from one or more prime suppliers for predefined Information Technology, Communications, and Audio Visual (ITC/AV) products and services at optimized scale.
SEWP VI is scheduled to be in effect from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2036.
TechTrend won prime seats in SEWP Category B and Category C:
SEWP VI Category B (Enterprise-Wide ITC/AV Service Solutions):
Focuses on broad, integrated IT solutions across the whole enterprise. The category includes IT managed services, enterprise network and innovation services, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud integration. Category B will provide small business set-aside opportunities for large-scale enterprise solutions.
SEWP VI Category C (ITC/AV Mission-Oriented Services):
Category C is reserved for small businesses only. It focuses on standalone IT professional services and consulting, including targeted technical offerings such as application development and cloud support.
